What We Do

The National Center for Firearms Removal conducts individual as well as community firearm buy-back style programs and pursues donation activities throughout the country. We receive and dispose of unwanted firearms nationally, in a full time systematic manner which is self-sustaining and requires no government funding, unlike law enforcement organized “Gun Buy Back” programs. In addition to these removal services, we offer free firearms safety classes which serve to educate individuals on personal and home firearm safety best practices. These classes are offered to any interested person and are often coordinated with local law enforcement and community leaders; all at no cost to those who attend! We are a 100% donation based organization, all of our efforts are made possible by generous donors who believe in a safer society.

FIREARMS REMOVAL SERVICES: Firearms that are requested for removal are processed internally, evaluated to determine eligibility for repurposing or disposed of. Transfer for repurposing if the weapon is suitable for law enforcement use and is in safe working condition after inspection by our specialists. Preserving antique and historically significant firearms that are occasionally acquired. If the condition warrants, historical firearms that are received, evaluated, and inspected by our firearms specialist will be donated or loaned to appropriate museums where citizens can appreciate them. We are federally licensed and recognized, all transfers are done according to federal regulations.

HOW WE PRESERVE FIREARMS: Firearms deemed historical by specialists are typically rendered inoperable and donated or loaned to museums to be used as teaching aids.

HOW WE REPURPOSE FIREARMS: Firearms requested or deemed suitable for use by law enforcement are transferred to law enforcement entities for use in their official duties.

HOW WE DESTROY UNWANTED FIREARMS: To be considered destroyed, firearms must be cut in such a manner as to render the firearm completely inoperative and in such a manner that it cannot be restored to an operative condition. Destructions are conducted in accordance to exact federal rules and regulations.
