Prohibited Persons

Federal law 18 USC § 922 (D) (G) (N) prohibits specific groups of people from possessing firearms or ammunition. Possession of firearms or ammunition by people who fall into any of these categories is a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison! Selling, giving, transferring or otherwise making a firearm or ammunition available to a person who falls into one of these categories is also a serious crime, punishable by 10 years in prison. Keeping firearms in a household where a member of the household or a frequent visitor falls into any of these categories puts you at risk of violating the law. The National Center for Firearms Removal assists in removing firearms from homes where prohibited persons may have access to them. Learn more here
